About the Seminar
How to Engineer a Consulting Career
To be a consultant, all you need is a client. To get more clients, you need exposure. To build a consulting business, you need a few more things. In this talk, Dr. Meagan Pollock will share her career journey from engineer to educator to entrepreneur. She’ll recommend fundamental strategies for getting a service-based consulting business off the ground, reveal tough lessons learned and promising practices, overview her portfolio of services and resources, and offer an inside look at the pros/cons of self-employment. Whether you are curious about how to consult on the side or dream of being your own boss, this talk offers a transparent glimpse at one woman’s ongoing attempt at engineering a joyful life doing meaningful work through a consulting career.
