Engineering Design and Careers: A conversation with students

empathic design and engineering careers nepris meagan pollock

Every once in a while, I am invited to speak to students through Nepris, now called Pathful Connect. Last month, I virtually spoke with a group of Houston middle schoolers about engineering, design, and careers. We also talked about empathy! The students were fun and had great ideas.

Key questions I aimed to answer:

  • What is there to know about engineering design?

  • What is it like to be an engineer?

  • How does engineering connect to what students may be learning now?

  • Why is knowing about engineering valuable for students now and in the future?
